May is Bike Month, and we have some events planned for you! Whether you've been commuting by bike for years or want to try for the first time, we want to celebrate and encourage you for using your two wheels to get around. Here are some upcoming events:

Bike Week, May 13-19

Bike Week is coming up this May 13th to May 19th! We hope you'll join us for come key events happening to celebrate biking and encourage others to join in on the biking fun.

Also, if you are a business or organization in L.A. County, please consider hosting your own Bike Week event such as a bike repair workshop and/or a Bike to Work Day Pit Stop. Learn more about Metro's Bike Week events here.

Metro's Fix Your Bike Day

LACBC Fundraiser at The Counter in Studio City

Give this flyer to your server (and pass along another one to a friend) before you get your custom-built burger at The Counter in Studio City all day Tuesday, May 14th! Bike from Work After Parties with LACBC and Local Chapters

Join LACBC and our local chapters at local restaurants throughout the L.A. County to eat and hang out after work. More info.

Bike Night at the Hammer
When: Friday, May 17; 6 PM

The Hammer Presents Bike Night! Grab some friends and pedal on over for an evening celebrating all things bicyclistic! Free festivities include bicycle portraits, a screening of the 1983 Australian action movie BMX Bandits (starring a young, not-yet-famous Nicole Kidman), bicycle-centric crafts, and free admission to LLYN FOULKES. Guest hosted by artist and bicycle enthusiast/activist Lisa Anne Auerbach. More info.

Road Rules for Bicyclists from Five Perspectives

Join LACBC as we welcome three speakers to give us their insight into California’s bicycle rules and how those affect you, what you should know, as well as your rights and responsibilities as a bicyclist. This presentation coincides with the introduction of LACBC’s new “Bike Safe” rules of the road pocket guide. The presentation will include a Q & A session at the end. More info.

PARKING ALERT: Due to massive DWP construction in Griffith Park, parking will be severely limited for the River Ride. All available parking for the River Ride within Griffith Park is reserved for the family and kid's ride participants.  36, 50, 70 and 100 mile riders must park at the Disney Lot at 1625 Flower St., Glendale, CA. This lot is just over one mile from the start line, secure, and FREE for our participants. Directions to the Parking lot: From the 5 fwy exit at Western Ave, from Western turn right on Flower St. The parking lot will be on your left. See map. Be sure to check out this video.
