Mountain biker, road biker, commuter and all around bike lover! I average 120 miles per week commuting to work from Burbank to Hollywood. I know we have a long way to go but appreciate all the work LACBC and Walk Bike Burbank have put forward to make our cities more bike friendly and raise bicycle awareness. Thank you, if you see me on the streets or on the trails smile and say Hi!

Not a rodie, not a mountain biker, not a cruiser. I’m all of those. I think training wheels should go the way of the dodo and all kids should start on balance bikes. I love my Pinarello Dogma and my Masi Soulville the same amount. Hydraulic disk brakes for the win!!!!

starting to love biking at night

I’m passionate about cycling, the freedom and the camaraderie. Adventures, keeping fit and enjoying the journey. Design, technology and culture. Stories and friendships. After being hit by a car while riding, I want to protect all the great things about biking in LA.

Used to commute to work until I retired. Now ride for pleasure and exercise.

Adventure cycling, CX racing, bike commuting middle aged guy in spandex here. I’m just having fun and getting back into shape. I joined a team (Roaring Mouse) and I’m looking to participate in some bike advocacy volunteer work and make some like minded friends too.

Not a roadie. Commute 5 miles each way most workdays. Suburban-to-urban SFV. Got a Lumos helmet with turn signals embedded, drivers give me /lots/ more respect when in the middle of a lane. Amazing how much safer a simple striped bike lane is than the same width but only “Share the road” signs. Drivers wander all over unmarked wide lanes, they stay out of marked bike lanes. Thanks for your hard work!

I ride to work 3 days a week and for fun whenever I can!
  • commented 2016-12-03 17:33:25 -0800
I cycle for the joy of it — wind in the hair (albeit helmet covered), new vistas viewed from new perspectives, thrilling downhills, and satisfying exercise.

Appreciate all LACBC has done to improve biking infrastructure in our huge county, and am looking forward to supporting more great projects ensuring biking is safe and fun for Angelenos.

Love all types of riding, casual/city, road, mountain. We are all fortunate to live in one of the most bike-conducive areas in the world – it would be nice to get more people out of car seats and on to bike seats!

I cycle for primarily for transportation around town and work in DTLA. Bicycling is more than just a recreational activity which I also enjoy. I support all efforts to make all streets and intersections safer for pedestrians and bicyclists. We need protected bike lanes.

I bike to help maintain physical fitness. The nice scenery of the Los Angeles area makes it more fun.

Live Santa Monica, head straight for the hills almost every ride – Mandeville, Topanga, Fernwood, Piuma, Latigo… Only once hit by a car on Main St, SM. Would love to do more long distance in the city if safe and decent routes were developed. Supporting LABC as it has clearly helped to promote biking and bike saftey for all uses in the city.

I only ride about once a week now, primarily on traffic-free bike paths (e.g., Ballona), since falling and breaking some ribs four years ago. However, I remain a committed advocate for bikes and for making LA a better place to ride, because I know it has the potential to someday be the greatest cycling city in the world. Thank you, LACBC, for promoting safer streets and better driver education.

I ride 4-5 times a week, mostly for fitness. I live near LAX, and ride the beach bike path. I ride the Santa Monica mountains, and the PV peninsula. I ride through the city to Ciclavia, and the LA River. This morning I rode to the Venice farmers market. Tomorrow I will be leading a team training ride for the Bike MS Coastal Challenge event coming up in March.

The best thing we can do for LA is to get our families, friends and colleagues out on their bikes. The more cyclists, the better. It’s easier to advocate for more bike lanes when the existing ones are getting lots of use. Drivers are more likely to see us if they are expecting to see cyclists. Businesses will install bike racks when they see customers arriving on bikes.

I bike from Mar Vista to Hollywood to commute to work every day. I love to bike because it gives me an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and to clear my head, especially when the weather is beautiful (which it so often is).

LA’s roads have a long way to go before they’re safe and inclusive for cyclists and pedestrians. Close calls with cars happen too often, and drivers fail to see that a small risk to them can easily translate into a life or death situation for a cyclist. I’m hopeful that things are changing for the better!

I live in Silverlake and ride to work at UCLA in AM then take Metro home (too much traffic at night). My husband and I ride on weekends in Griffith Park, river trail, and elsewhere. Cycling is fun and meeting other cyclists via groups like this is a blast!

I bike locally and on bicycle touring trips. Ramping up to do centuries again. I love the feeling of being out on the road or trail on a bike, alone or with friends.

I bike to and from work almost every day of the week. It is one of the highlights of my day (and so much better than sitting in traffic)! I want to support LACBC in its efforts to make walking and cycling more enjoyable and more safe for all Angelinos.

I have been down from cycling for a while because of a major knee surgery and I’m just getting well enough to get back on the bike. I’m not competition or fitness necessarily, but more for transportation whenever possible.

I bike with 3 buddies on weekends and we love it. We ride out to Malibu and we ride in Griffith Park and lots of places in between. Every ride includes a stop for coffee. Long live biking!

I bike all over Santa Monica and West LA, and love biking CicLAvia. I’m a bicycle and pedestrian planner working to improve bicycling safety and conditions all over LA, with a focus on South LA and DTLA. If you bike in those areas, hope you’ll join the USC Bicycle Coalition to improve safety and build the bicycling community in South LA!

I like to bike CicLAvia, the trail at Santa Fe Dam and mountain bike the El Prieto Trail.

I think more bike trails and dedicated bike paths all over LA would make things a lot better for Los Angeles!
