The City of Los Angeles Great Streets Initiative, in partnership with Councilmember Paul Krekorian, is developing a vision for the future of Lankershim Blvd from the North Hollywood Red Line station (Chandler Blvd) to Victory Blvd. The City is planning to resurface the entire stretch in Summer of 2017. This is a great opportunity for community members to provide input to connect gaps in the current bike lane network. The City has been collecting input from community stakeholders and is planning to release a concept by January 2017. For the first time since we started the Ride Lankershim campaign in 2012, the City has a budget and political support to make these long-awaited improvements happen.
The City is hosting a community pop-up event on Lankershim between Weddington and Magnolia, which includes a pop-up protected bike lane demo. Join LACBC San Fernando Valley Neighborhood Bike Ambassadors to ride on Lankershim and show our broad support for making Lankershim safer for all!
Meet us for a ride Saturday, December 3rd, at 9:30 a.m. at North Hollywood Red Line Station (East exit).
Take Action: Take this brief survey and let them know your ideas on how to improve Lankershim for walking, biking, transit use, public space, and much more. Your voice really matters!
