Southeast Cities Active Transportation Plan

LACBC is coordinating a multi-city active transportation plan in Southeast Los Angeles County, a dense subregion where many people depend on walking, biking and public transit every day. The Southeast Cities are heavily impacted by goods movement, creating unique safety and public health challenges for people walking and biking, despite overwhelming demand in these low-income communities. An active transportation plan would identify and prioritize infrastructure improvements and programs for pedestrians and bicyclists to increase safety and better connect community destinations, including schools, parks and job centers.

With support from LA n Sync and LACBC, our city partners aim to apply for funding for a multi-city plan, as was done for the South Bay Bicycle Master Plan with great results. We hope to replicate that success in the Southeast Cities.

If you live, work or play in any of the Southeast Cities, share your vision with us of a more walkable and bikeable community by getting involved in this effort. Please join us in making Southeast Los Angeles County a health, safe and fun place to walk and bike.
