Last night, the Mid-Town NoHo Neighborhood Council voted, by a slim margin of 10 to 8, to oppose changes on Lankershim between Magnolia Blvd and Vanowen Street that would include:
Reducing travel lanes to improve safety
Improving bike and pedestrian connections
Calmer traffic for a safer drive, walk, and ride
Trees, landscaping, and green infrastructure
Thanks to our members, we had a strong showing at the meeting with community members and advocates stressing the need for a Lankershim that prioritizes biking and walking and a more vibrant community. Despite the vote, we want to carry the momentum from last night and keep pushing for this change. The vote is just a recommendation, but a final decision has yet to be made by the City on the project.
Now, more than ever, we need your help to ensure Councilmember Paul Krekorian approves this plan and makes Lankershim safer for all road users.
Please take this survey and contact Councilmember Paul Krekorian to show your support for proposed Lankershim improvements.
