Meet the LACBC Staff
Jennifer KlausnerExecutive Director Jennifer Klausner has served as Executive Director of LACBC since summer 2007. Prior to joining LACBC, her career focused on consumer products marketing and branding, in product development/licensing roles with Hello Kitty and Barbie, at Nakajima and Mattel, respectively. Jennifer grew up in Los Angeles, holds degrees from both UCLA and USC, and has commuted by bike throughout her post graduate career. She has a diverse bike advocacy experience, is an avid and still occasionally competitive mountain biker, USAC certified Coach and a League of American Bicyclists LCI. |
Alexis LantzPlanning and Policy Director Alexis started at LACBC as an intern in 2009. During her internship she helped launch LACBC's LA Bike Count, the first bicycle and pedestrian count in the City of of Los Angeles. Alexis holds an M.A. in Urban Planning from UCLA. Her interest in transportation stems from a belief that bicycling, walking, and mass transit are integral components for ensuring equitable and sustainable communities with thriving local economies. While at UCLA she initiated a student-led course on bicycle and pedestrian planning that continues today. As a Fellowship recipient of the Los Angeles Sustainability Collaborative, she authored the report “Cycling in Los Angeles” as her applied graduate research project. She is a board member for the California Bicycle Coalition and harbors a love for vintage living, yacht rock, and Agatha Cristie novels. |
JJ HoffmanDevelopment and Events Director JJ Hoffman has been biking in L.A. to work and play since 1990. She started working with the LACBC as a volunteer in 2003, then, with Lupe Vela created Bicycle Sundae, Spooky Ride, Nacimiento tour and other fun rides. In 2005 she was distracted by something shiny and before she knew what was happening, she was the Volunteer Coordinator for that year's Annual Los Angeles River Ride. Then, in 2006 she took over the job as Director. The job has been the most challenging and rewarding experience of her life. She has been gratified to see the River change for the better, and more and more cyclists enjoying the path daily. But JJ feels the best part is seeing LACBC grow after every successful River Ride. She says, "If you haven't done the ride or sponsored it or volunteered for it, you are missing out! Join us this summer!" |
Carol FeuchtMembership and Communications Manager Carol Feucht is your membership and communications guru, helping you with all of your membership needs and keeping you informed about bike news and events via the Interweb and beyond. It was while she was an Urban Studies & Planning student at UC San Diego that Carol first became involved with bicycle advocacy and began bicycling for the first time since her elementary school days when she rocked a pink banana bike. She made her first appearance at the LACBC offices as a volunteer in Spring of 2009 and has been here ever since. One of her favorite activities is to bike to her local library and return with a basket full of books to read. Books and bikes, reading and riding, words and wheels--these are all winning combinations. |
Colin BogartProgram and Campaigns Manager Before joining our staff, Colin Bogart was a volunteer for the LACBC from 2000 to 2008. In his volunteer days, he recruited other volunteers, helped organize rides, and served on the Board of Directors from 2003-2007. He holds at Bachelor's Degree from Loyola Marymount University and is a certified League Cycling Instructor (#2240). As the PLACE Grant Coordinator, Colin worked closely with a team of Glendale City Staff members to create the Glendale Safe & Healthy Streets Plan, making Glendale a better place to walk or ride a bike. His work with Glendale City Staff and community members is ongoing, in addition to a renewed focus on more LACBC programs and campaigns.

Martin Lopez-IuVolunteer Coordinator Martin grew up in Los Angeles and hated it. At the time he couldn’t see past all the ways L.A. seemingly stood to defy nature. He couldn’t wait to escape the sprawling concrete, the smoggy air, the dirty beaches, and the maze of freeways. It took 3 years of living on the east coast and abroad before he began to rethink environmentalism, and nature in general. Martin returned to his native city in 2009, gave up his car and began to explore Los Angeles on his bike. He has been falling in love ever since—rediscovering all the beautiful potential he had spurned. He now wishes to inspire others to bike and see their crazy city in a whole new way, full of hope. Martin began volunteering for LACBC in 2010 and became the River Ride Volunteer Coordinator with Erik Alcaraz in 2011. He is now developing outreach projects and working to build a strong volunteer base for all our events and campaigns. He is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies from UCLA. He is also an avid musician—writing songs, playing in bands, recording and performing live every chance he gets. |
Bobby GaddaBike Valet Coordinator Bobby Gadda is the Bike Valet Coordinator for LACBC. If you need parking for a lot of bikes at your event, get in touch! He also helps out Jonny with Bike Wrangling and coordinates volunteers for the Bici Libre workshop space. Bobby is also involved in lots of other bike stuff in LA - he was a co-founder and now serves as the President of the Board of Directors of CicLAvia. He is also a "cook" at the Bicycle Kitchen (and serves on its Board of Directors), and lives at the LA Eco-Village. He enjoys many different kinds of biking, from long-distance touring and roadie rides, to cruising around on his tall bike with a wind-up fire alarm. When not doing something bike related (ha!) you can find Bobby tending to his bees on the roof or checking out some gross bugs with his dissecting microscope. |
Brenda YancorProgram Coordinator Brenda has been a volunteer with LACBC's City of Lights program for the past year or so, and now, as the Program Coordinator for Bici Libre, gets paid to do the things she likes to do for free! While she's still on her way to learning about bikey mechanic stuff, Brenda likes getting her hands greasy at Bici Digna and Bici Libre to compensate for all the things she wasn't allowed to take apart as a child. Having grown up in Southeast Los Angeles County and taking the bus everywhere, Brenda thinks that all pedestrians should have the opportunity to be cyclists as well, because waiting for the bus really sucks sometimes. Brenda's been regularly riding her bike for almost three years now and doesn't know how she ever lived without it. Brenda and her faithful bicycle companion, Blue Thunder, roam the streets of Los Angeles every day, so feel free to say hi if you see them whizzing by. |
Megan DeanBike Locker Coordinator Megan works with Metro on maintaining and updating its locker programs. Outside of locker world, Megan spends her time eating vegan food, riding bikes so she can eat more, drinking coffee with her puppies and kitten, and these days she spends a lot of time building custom bicycle frames as Moth Attack. Occasionally, you can spot her volunteering at the Bicycle Kitchen (Bitchen!) or riding/racing at a nearby Velodrome. She grimaces and makes goofy faces when you try to take photos of her, but lets you take them anyway. |
Mark DiDiaBurbank Youth Project Organizer Mark DiDia is the project organizer for the Burbank Kids ReCycle Project that should begin some time in March. He is a car-free parent of an awesome car-free son, which allots them loads of eco-points in Los Angeles. He graduated from UCLA with a degree in philosophy, which has widened his career options to include all the open philosopher positions in the area. He lives at the Los Angeles Eco-Village and volunteers some of his time at Bici Libre/Bici Digna and with CicLAvia as the Boyle Heights expansion coordinator. He also enjoys mountain biking, building/fixing bicycles, organizing with his local community, romantic walks to the dollar store, and--most of all--spending time with his son riding bicycles. |
