St. Patrick’s Day Ride 2017 Photo Gallery

(photos by Dale Zapata)

Last Friday, LACBC hosted our first St. Patrick’s Day Lunch Ride to celebrate our Green on the Ground Week, where we’ve been telling the stories of green bike lanes across the county.

Our ride started at Pershing Square, wound through Downtown L.A. via the green bike lane on Spring St., and ended at Grand Hope Park for lunch.

Some of the participants decided to leave their own bikes at home as Metro provided free coupons to test out their Bike Share program.

Here are some photos of the ride taken by our super volunteer Dale Zapata:

LACBC’s Executive Director Tamika Butler rolls up on Metro Bike Share.

Made right here in Downtown L.A., the crew from Roadrunner Bags came by to join our ride.

LACBC’s Director of Development Erik Jansen won the green and plaid award for the day.

The Pershing Square Metro Bike Station was easily accessible and located at the Olive & 5th corner of Pershing Square.

All smiles….but now it’s time to ride!

We had a short climb up Olive Street past the Subway Terminal Building before turning onto 4th Street.

You could see Tie-Dye Dave’s work on this green & purple L.A. River Ride shirt.

Who doesn’t have fun on a bike ride?

Biking was definitely faster than taking the bus.

This green fellow tagged along too.

We pulled into Grand Hope Park for one last photo before we….

..ate lunch. Thanks to everyone for making this a fun inaugural St. Patrick’s Day ride!

Thanks to everyone who participated in Green on the Ground Week. Check out our series of Green on the Ground content on the LACBC blog and sign the pledge to support green bike lanes and other innovative infrastructure.
